The technicians at All American Carpet & Tile treat any type of water damage as an emergency; the flooded home’s repair and water extraction needs will be addressed quickly. A technician will be immediately dispatched to the home and will arrive within an hour. In the meantime, the first steps to minimizing water damage will be explained over the phone. For after-hours emergencies please call Mike at (858) 533-7003.
Homeowners are advised to do the following while a technician is en route.
Limit further flooding: Shut off the water source to prevent the accumulation of more water and damage; this may entail turning off the water supply to the entire building or using large buckets to collect water.
Move furniture and other items: When the water is turned off, move any furniture or other important items that are in the flooded area or in danger of getting wet. Move the items to a temporary dry spot. Any objects on wet carpet should be removed so the area can be thoroughly dried when a technician arrives.
One potential risk of water damage is mold growth. When carpet, fabric, drywall, and other absorbent materials get wet, mold can start growing immediately, producing spores in just five days. That’s one reason why flooding is considered an emergency.
The technicians at All American Carpet & Tile will dry and treat the area as quickly and completely as possible to prevent mold growth. To prevent mold, water should be extracted and dried no later than 48 hours after the flood or leak started. If dangerous levels of mold have developed, carpet, drywall, and other materials may need to be removed and replaced, and mold remediation services may be required.

Working with competent professionals is always pleasant. Saturday morning I called Mike from All American Carpet & Tile to come take a look at a leak. He walked me through the whole process and told me exactly what needed to get done. I work in property management so this isn't the first leak I've dealt with. As someone who knows the protocol, I can honestly say that Mike knowledgeable in this area. He ran a water damage assessment and pointed out the non-visible affected areas. He also set up large dehumidifiers to dry any damp areas. Also I've spoken to Tiffany who is their office manager; she's always been very helpful with scheduling. Give them a call; you won't regret it.
